Thanks to its modular design, the HUBTEX SFX heavy-duty platform truck can be optimally adapted to the specific requirements of the aviation industry. Based on the modular system, different features and assistance systems can be combined – from variable platform sizes to automated control options. This allows aircraft manufacturers and suppliers to benefit from maximum flexibility when transporting fuselages, wings or segments during production and final assembly.
Precision and flexibility when transporting sensitive aircraft components
For complex transport tasks, such as the precise positioning of wings or the transport of the tail unit to a paint shop, the HUBTEX SFX also offers the option of an integrated platform lift. This means that sensitive aircraft components can not only be positioned with millimetre precision, but also flexibly adjusted in height – a decisive advantage for work steps such as painting or assembly. The platform uses integrated sensors to determine its position and automatically calculates the optimal steering geometry. The result: fully automatic, millimetre-precise positioning that saves time and minimises sources of error. This is complemented by comprehensive safety solutions such as personal protection systems and impact protection strips. In addition, two platform trucks can be used in wireless coupling mode to double the load capacity – ideal for transporting particularly large aircraft structures.

Our SFX heavy-duty platforms are available with a range of steering systems that are specially adapted to the requirements of aircraft production. Depending on the aisle widths in assembly halls or the entry situations in hangars, we will find the optimal solution together with you. While two-way steering is an economical option in many standard applications, multidirectional steering offers maximum flexibility and precision. It allows longitudinal, transverse and diagonal movement, making it particularly advantageous in confined assembly areas or when handling large-format aircraft components such as fuselages, wings or tail units.

Customised control solutions
The SFX heavy-duty platform is controlled by a radio remote control as standard, which ensures the safe and precise transport of aircraft components. The platform can also be equipped with a cabin or driver's platform for long-distance transport or frequent mounting and dismounting of the operator. Alternatively, there is the option of complete automation, which is particularly advantageous for repeated transport processes in aircraft assembly. Individual automation options are available, such as wire or optical guidance systems, transponder guidance, laser navigation and automatic battery charging. These levels of automation enable efficient and reliable operation in the production process.
Doubled total load capacity in coupling mode for the transport of aircraft components
An additional innovative option is coupling mode, which enables the wireless connection of two vehicle units. This creates a stable heavy-duty transport system with twice the total payload capacity, ideal for transporting large aircraft segments such as fuselages or wings. Both platforms remain in permanent communication during transport and can be controlled together via radio remote control or fully automated if required.
Customisable in length and width - perfect for fuselages, wings and tail units
The SFX heavy-duty platform from HUBTEX has a frame construction consisting of three fixed assemblies: front axle, rear axle and centre section. Thanks to variable interfaces, the frame can be flexibly adapted in length and width to the dimensions of aircraft fuselages, wings or tail units. The robust steel construction fulfils the high quality requirements of the aviation industry and guarantees a long service life. Customised support options are available for different application scenarios - from the classic steel design to special load protection coatings made of wood or plastic to transport even sensitive aviation components safely and gently.
Maximum availability thanks to flexible charging and energy systems
The SFX heavy-duty platform trailers from HUBTEX can be equipped with lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries as required. While lead-acid batteries are a solid basic solution with their lower acquisition costs and charging times of between five and a half and fourteen hours, they are only suitable to a limited extent for intensive multi-shift operation. Lithium-ion batteries are therefore often the more economical choice for aircraft assembly: they are fully charged within around an hour, can be recharged at any time, have a significantly lower weight and can achieve up to 6,000 charging cycles. They therefore ensure uninterrupted transport of fuselages, wings or tail units - even during long operating hours in assembly halls or final assembly lines.
Reliable manoeuvrability on hangar floors and taxiways
Our SFX heavy-duty transporters are equipped as standard with PU tyres, which offer low wear and excellent performance on smooth assembly hall floors and inside aircraft hangars. For less favourable ground conditions or for use on airfield surfaces, a PU soft tyre option is available.
Depending on the specific application in the aerospace industry, the most suitable tyre configuration is selected. In addition to the standard options, we also offer elastic and pneumatic tyres, which are ideal for uneven outdoor surfaces such as taxiways or apron areas.
