The Omni-Directional Vehicle (ODV) from HUBTEX offers a flexible solution for mobilising stationary work platforms in the aviation industry. By simply docking onto the platforms, it can be moved precisely and safely. In addition, the vehicles can be used as tugs – ideal for the flexible transport of work platforms and trailers within the production facility. The ODV can be seamlessly integrated into existing production processes.

The Omni-Directional Vehicle (ODV) from HUBTEX is the efficient 2-in-1 solution for the aviation industry – specially developed for the requirements of aircraft manufacturing and maintenance. With just one system, stationary work platforms and work stands can be mobilised in a precise and safe manner, and transport can be carried out in towing mode. If necessary, several ODVs can be used in interconnected operation for large-scale or particularly heavy movements. The precise and synchronised control of several coupled vehicles enables significant time and personnel savings, reduces changeover times and ensures a smooth material flow – even in confined areas during final assembly and in the hangar.

Features
Access to the ODV can be controlled via customer-specific systems such as barcode scanners or RFID . This ensures that only authorised staff operate the vehicle - an important safety factor, especially in sensitive areas of aircraft assembly.
The ODV is controlled via the supplied radio remote control. This allows the operator to keep an eye on the system from any perspective and manoeuvre safely. All relevant system information can be read in real time on the remote control's integrated display.
The additional HMI display integrated in the ODV shows the operator all important operating data.
The information displayed includes
- Battery status
- Current driving programme
- Wheel positions
- Driving speed
Optional functions such as distance measurement or guidance systems can be integrated into the system to further increase operating comfort and safety.
Depending on the application scenario, the open-system design enables the use of both lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries.
The selection of suitable technology is based on operational conditions such as the available charging pauses (downtimes), the planned duration of operation and the expected system loads.
The ODV is equipped with a 3-wheel chassis that ensures stable ground contact at all times - even on slightly uneven floors in the assembly hall. This design enables optimum load distribution, high manoeuvrability and safe handling in confined spaces. In combination with the special polyurethane soft tyres, the ODV offers excellent grip and prevents the wheels from spinning - even under demanding conditions.
