FAL solutions for aircraft assembly
In Final Assembly Lines, safe access, millimetre-accurate positioning and fast changeovers matter. HUBTEX pairs omnidirectional electric platforms with docking systems to mobilise fixed work platforms — turning existing docks into mobile assets, easing layout changes and stabilising takt and cycle times. Sensor-enabled assistance supports low-collision work on delicate aircraft structures.
Our Solutions
Mobile work platforms: precise access across every section
HUBTEX assembly and work platforms deliver safe access to fuselage, wing, engine and tail areas in the FAL. The omnidirectional chassis enables millimetre-precise positioning along sections and stations, even in tight spaces. Operator assistance — supported by onboard sensors — helps with approach, braking and hold; optional collision-avoidance functions minimise contact with parts and fixtures. All-electric drives run quietly, energy-efficiently and with low emissions, enhancing final-assembly working conditions. Modular platform sizes, guardrail options and integrated utilities make EPL platforms easy to configure for varying fuselage diameters, wing geometries and process stages — a perfect fit for OEMs and tier suppliers handling mixed or varying batch sizes.

Omnidirectional work platform
Omnidirectional work platform for safe maintenance and assembly work with a working height of up to 473 in and a load capacity of up to 4,400 lbs.

Mobile assembly and supply platforms for aircraft construction
Thanks to their omnidirectional steering system, these self-driving platforms offer maximum manoeuvrability – ideal for working on sensitive aircraft structures. With load capacities of up to 11,000 lbs and a purely electric drive...
Dock mobilisation: turning fixed platforms into mobile assets
Existing stationary work platforms can be upgraded into mobile units with HUBTEX HL-AGV, ODV and WDU. This allows docks to be moved between changing stations without investing in new, permanently installed equipment.
HL-AGV lifts and moves platforms as an under-lift, omnidirectional solution with finely controllable motion.
ODV/WDU safely couple to or pick up docks to enable flexible repositioning.
Mobilisation shortens changeover times during product swaps, supports layout optimisation and increases line availability. Sensor systems, personnel protection and defined docking points ensure repeatable positioning and stable processes. For system integrators, this becomes a powerful lever to adapt FAL capacity quickly and relieve bottlenecks.

Omni Directional Vehicle (ODV)

HUBTEX HL-AGV
The HUBTEX HL-AGV mobilizes stationary work platforms in aircraft assembly and maintenance. In synchronized coupling operation with a second vehicle, work platforms are lifted precisely and safely. A sensor-supported assistance system ensures exact
Fuselage transporters: safe movement for heavy assemblies
HUBTEX fuselage transporters are built for moving fuselage sections, structures and assemblies between FAL stations. High capacities meet millimetre-accurate positioning, while tailored load-handling gear, soft touch points and optional sensing protect delicate surfaces. Omnidirectional mobility lets you rotate, side-shift and dock large assemblies precisely, even in tight footprints.
Multidirectional sideloaders: smooth intralogistics for long goods and sections
From profiles and stringers to shells, panels and tooling, HUBTEX multidirectional sideloaders excel in tight spaces. Longitudinal, lateral and diagonal travel enables precise movement of long, unwieldy loads at minimal aisle widths. All-electric drives, finely tuned controls and optional collision protection support safe, low-emission handling around the FAL. Process-specific load-handling gear — long-load forks, carriers and bespoke attachments — can be configured to suit. Paired with EPL platforms, you gain an end-to-end material flow from pre-assembly through to the final line.
Systems for the Final Assembly Line
By combining mobile work platforms, dock mobilisation, multidirectional sideloaders and fuselage transporters, you establish a seamless material and assembly flow across the Final Assembly Line. Every module is scalable, all-electric, and integrates with existing safety and control systems. Outcome: stable takt, reduced stoppages, greater process security and a future-proof FAL that adapts to new programmes, variants and volumes.
Next step: We’ll review build rates, stations, layout and safety needs together, then configure an FAL package that delivers millimetre-accurate positioning, rapid changeovers and protective handling — from EPL platforms and dock mobilisation to moving heavy fuselage sections.
